About Gestuz

Gestuz was founded in 2008 by Sanne Sehested, who wanted to create a brand inspired by her own vintage feeling wardrobe and the kind of energy and attitude she believed fashion should give the wearer.

Looking to create designs that emphasize the strength of women rather than overshadow, and with inspiration from earlier decades and a modern rock and roll woman, Gestuz creates pieces that allow for interpretation from the individual.

Rooted in the effortless ease of the Scandinavian design heritage, Gestuz simultaneously rebels against it by subtly and humorously disrupting and updating the classics.

Gestuz AW25

In the grand halls of Nikolaj Kunsthal, GESTUZ showcases the AW25 collection under the title “Don’t Bring Me roses”.Inspired by an unhappy love story, the evolution of a woman on the other side of it, and a stolen biker jacket that completed her wardrobe.

This is not your ordinary love story. This doesn't end with them walking towards the sunset together. It ends with broken hearts and harsh words, and a woman more empowered on the other side. It ends with two wardrobes merged, leaving pieces as memories of another time.

It ends with angry letters of burning love. And it starts with a new life for her.

The AW25 collection is a love letter from the GESTUZ muse to the person she left behind. It is a story of how life became more beautiful on the other side, and how good his biker jacket looks over her silk dress. It embraces the black widow glamour and luxury rock and roll chicness that is at the core of GESTUZ, while tipping its hat to the earlier decades that continue to inspire the collections.

After a breakup or a difficult time in life, a very common thing we do is to change our hair, buy a new dress, basically do something to make us feel like a better, more empowered, different version of ourselves. I was really inspired by the idea of how something so strong and raw can come from pain. Maybe even bring out a truer version of oneself.

The femme fatale was once again my main muse for this collection. She is complicated, dark, powerful and luxurious in her very own way. She is also 22 and 52 and everything in between. There is very much an old glamour meets badass rock and roll, all wrapped up in the classic GESTUZ spirit. We embraced a darker version of the GESTUZ woman. I like that
— Creative Director Sanne Sehested

Heavy leather, delicate lace, chunky knit, and fitted suits meet feminine floral dresses and biker details. Creating a collection that shows that she might have borrowed a few pieces from his wardrobe, but mostly she is just the most powerful and true version of herself.

Key colors include dark reds, green, browns and pops of white. A dark romance is embraced through the prints used in the collection, which again this season offers a more mature take on print stories from the brand. Roses are a vital part of the collection showcased in knitwear, silk burn-out and lace amongst others, pointing to the fact that she indeed does not need anyone to bring her roses.
